The RAND Corporation has released a report on the use of RFID in Health Care. RAND is a nonprofit research organization that provides objective research and analysis relevant to challenges in private and public sectors worldwide.

This RFID in health care report is entitled “Study on the requirements and options for RFID application in healthcare. Identifying areas for Radio Frequency Identification deployment in healthcare delivery: A review of relevant literature.” The report reviews 325 sources of RFID deployment information in the health care space from research literature to case studies.

Sources include policy documents, industry articles, scientific publications and a general literature review on RFID technology. It’s aim is to “[give] the reader an overview of all relevant issues related to RFID deployment in healthcare delivery.”

3. Technical issues
4. Operational/ managerial challenges
5. Cultural and ethical concerns
